We talk with mystery writer Laurie R. King about her process, characters, and more.

Laurie R. King is a mystery writer who has taken on iconic Sherlock Holmes and given him a firebrand of a partner in Mary Russell. King recently spoke at the Thurber House’s Evenings with Authors series. King’s historical novels allow her to explore ideas such as the roots of the Middle East conflict, feminism and early Christianity, and patriotism and individual responsibility.
